"The room was was absolutely filthy and falling apart..
My first thought when I went in, was to go out and get some cleaning stuff, a screw driver, no more nails glue and borrow a hoover.
The smell in the room I had was terrible, musty, damp.
The carpet is like one of those we joke about in a nightclub in the old days, sticky, stained, dirty...
I wish I was more confident because I'd have complained.
The hotel sent me a message saying check in was 2pm, but when I got there, it was 4pm, so I...
"Definitely a bit different to other hotels we have stayed in, possibly best described as quirky. Loved the use of wood throughout & our somewhat alternative four poster bed. Our room was spacious, with 2 comfortable chairs. Very clean & well presented. Thoughtful use of plants & small seating areas outside: we had a sheltered little patio.
Good choice at breakfast, although having to decide on arrival some of what we would like for the 2 days felt like a bit of a challenge. Could understand...
"Oak Tree Rooms was an excellent base for our New Forest weekend. I think the only drawback was the other people staying - they did like a loud conversation through a locked door, which was quite annoying! Other than that, the rooms were very comfortable indeed."
"Very well maintained and fab to stay. We had dinner there and it was fabulous. I booked a table in advance. It was full when we were there, so would recommend booking ahead. Steak and shiraz with a peppercorn sauce. Breakfast was set out on a full table to help yourself with juices, cereal, pastry, croissants, toast and there were jams a plenty to chose, along with marmite. There were muffins and bars along with fruit basket. We were greeted and asked if wale would like tea or coffee. Staff...
"This was a lovely guesthouse, located very close (400m or so) from the cliff lift, and it was a short stroll to the old village.
We were met upon our arrival by Jackie. She was very welcoming and helpful, she was amazing.
The room was lovely, ours was newly decorated with a beach theme and consisted of a double room, leading onto a room with a double bed and further onto a bathroom with shower.
The continental component of the breakfast had a great variety, and there was an amazing cooked...
"We had a lovely three night stay at Sandhill with a nice comfy room which was very clean and with all essential amenities.
Host Dave was very friendly and helpful and served excellent breakfasts.
Good base for visiting lots of nearby island places.
A nice unusual touch was they permit one to order/bring back an evening take-away meal to eat in their breakfast room.
We would be very happy to stay here when next on the island!"
"Really lovely place to stay, lots of nice features - honesty bar with QR code to pay, with range of products including Champagne, also similarly, drinks in room and snacks. Visually, very well designed, boutique experience. I booked late at night after cancelled ferry and was contacted by owner immediately with information re stay."
