On booking I knew I would be in the annex accommodation, I had stayed in this hotel before and I have always found it to be fine and the food is very good. I was advised on check in that the annex was back down the long drive and on the amin road, the annex i thought was actually the hotel suites. I carried my heavy bag back down the drive, and proceeded into the annex block, which I think is a converted house. What is striking in the front of the property is that it really needs tidying up and better lighting provided when approaching the property, there are numerous overgrown bushes around the front area. I proceeded into the property and the stairs were very noisy (I don't think any underlay on the carpet or very thin). I noted that no towels so did not want to go back up the drive and thought I would pick up some when I went to evening meal.
The room itself was shown as a single room, but there was a small double, for the size of the room it would probably be better to have a single bed to give more space in the room. There is also a large mirror in a standing frame blocking the window, a review of the room by the hotel would be good. The bathroom was clean although two empty free shower bottles located in the shower soap dish, so not sure why it was missed.
On returning to the room after evening meal, as I settled I noted that there was a bit of load conversation downstairs, plus cooking which I could smell.
I would stay in the hotel again but not in the annex
