"Last week I had a very pleasant stay at Deer Haven Inn. It's location is at the quiet end of the peninsula, which I appreciate. Very short walk to Asilomar beach. My room had a small fridge and microwave, also a coffee maker. Very clean and very safe. Adequate parking. Nisha, who manned the front desk, is very pleasant and efficient. I love Pacific Grove, and Deer Haven is one of the more affordable options.

"The Staff is excellent. The breakfast was limited but of good quality. My main issue was the bathroom situation. It might be fine in a suite, but the king bedroom situation was substandard. The house is lovely and I expect that this B & B is pretty much what you should expect in terms of price in Pacific Grove. It is an expensive area of CA and things cost more. "

"Clean room, comfortable bed. Not a lot of parking in the lot and some of the spaces are small; there is street parking, but in a neighborhood with a lot of hotels, apartments, and condos, so it can fill up at night. Room was musty and only had a sliding glass door (which was also the only door, no windwos) to get any fresh air inside - other rooms may have more options."

They ate dog friendly and it seems like everyone had a dog that was staying at the property. The little walking path behind the motel was nice!. The coffee in the office was great. I did have to wait until they opened every day at 8…

"The hotel is charming and in a great location, which we really enjoyed. However, the photos online don’t quite reflect the current condition of the rooms. They feel a bit dated and could use some updating.
We booked for 2 rooms and one cottage for our family of 6. In the cottage, the chair cushions were torn and the blinds in our room were difficult to operate due to their age. Small details like these took away from the overall comfort.
That said, the property itself has a lot of character....

"It’s a great location and beautiful scenery. The kids loved that the deers were right in the parking lot and you could hear frogs at night.
The hotel itself shows its age and the first night and first morning we had no hot water and the staff was slow to address it. Once we had this issue fixed the stay was good.
