"We stopped here on a whim as we were driving down the coast and couldn't have been more pleased. It is a beautiful property and well situated for exploration of Monterey and the surrounding area, both on foot and by car. The staff was absolutely lovey and the evening happy hour and breakfast were first class. We will definitely stay again!"

"Very clean and great service. The room was small but cozy. The little outdoor sitting areas varied from room to room. Due to the layout of the rooms, some were more useable than others. The location is ideal as well. Short walks to the beach and trails. Pacific Grove Golf Course in nearby as well. From the moment you arrive you are treated kindly and the front desk is full of useful ideas for things to do on your stay as well as explaining all about your stay. "The property was older but very quaint and comfortable. It was not walking distance to beach but it was a great location. While you needed to drive everywhere, nothing was more than a 5 min or so drive. I’d definitely love to stay there again!"

"Overall my stay was wonderful. The hotel is a little run down but it has a charming quaintness that I loved about it. We stayed during the off season for the monarchs so we didn't get to see why butterflies but I'm sure that in prime season I would have given 5 stars. "Their breakfast is gas station level - and they ran out of bagels, cream cheese, and pastries 1 hour into breakfast so we didn’t get any. The rooms are not well stocked - had to knock on a neighbors door for a blow dryer. And we were ignored by receptionist for 7 minutes when trying to check in as she was on the phone taking a personal call."

"While the rooms are large and quiet, the fittings in the bathroom need attention and some deodorizing would not come amiss. The location is wonderful and parking is free and restaurants are not too far away. The price is lower than many other offerings in the area but if your expectations are not too high, you will find this an acceptable place to stay."
