"The keys we were given to our room didn't work, and our door lock was spotty. Rather than resolve this by running new keys to us, we had to return and obtain them. We then also needed maintenance to come work on our lock. The other staff issue was Deb who rolled her eyes when I decided not to participate in the time share meeting. I had other island plans and her huffing and rolling her eyes at me didn't craft a welcome entrance after flying all day. Thanks Deb. The kitchen had everything we needed. They ran out extra laundry and dishwasher soap no problem. I liked being about to text the office to ask for incidentals. I would stay here again, it would be nice to have some updates to things, but everything here is serviceable. Would it be nice to not find the carpet tack strip between the rooms with my foot, yes. It's it a deal breaker? No. I enjoy the the cats, the ease of parking, the location to Kona and Captain Cook. I like the proximity to the grocery store up the street."

"Our stay at Gingerhill Farm in Hawaii was a truly unique experience and the perfect retreat. If you're looking for something comfortable and memorable outside of the traditional resort stay, this is it. The outdoor shower and open-air kitchen were absolute highlights—they made us feel immersed in the beautiful surroundings while still having everything we needed. The property is filled with lush gardens, blooming ginger, and vibrant tropical plants that create a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. We also loved spotting the friendly geckos throughout the property, which added to the authentic island experience. A wonderful bonus was discovering the beautiful artwork by Mayumi Oda displayed throughout the property. Her vibrant, nature-inspired prints complemented the peaceful setting perfectly and added another layer of inspiration to our stay. If you appreciate nature, tranquility, and a one-of-a-kind place to stay, Gingerhill Farm is a wonderful choice!"

"Our hosts were knowledgeable about the area and friendly. The view from our balcony (lānai) was amazing with all the lush plants and flowers. The breakfasts were delicious and hardy! We even loved the coqui frogs singing us to sleep at night!"

"This property’s location is probably one of the best in the Captain Cooks area, the views from the pool deck are stunning. Sarah’s breakfasts are one of a kind, fresh, healthy and a different taste everyday. At the Luana-Inn you’ll feel like at home, no room service but everything you need is available, just ask. The 2 cabins near the pool need acoustical insulation from the floor above. The Captain cook area is like a jungle, luscious green and beautiful winding roads to get to the property. At night is very dark and the closest place for diner is 30’ away down town so plan to buy before you get back from your excursions if you don't want to drive at night. Every single beach near and far has opportunity for snorkeling but bring proper water shoes. Overall we liked the property but we are pretty easy to please. Highly recommend the boat tours!"
