We walked outside of the property and were on the Main Street and within walking distance of all the shops, restaurant, and beach. It was a quick 7 minute walk to the beach for sunset each evening. "Everything was great. Small things could be better: In the room, "Heat" did nothing, but setting the Thermostat to 'cooling' actually switched the HEAT and fireplace on... (room 104). Also, it would be lovely if the top windows could be somehow covered like the patio ones - it gets super bright in the morning. But overall, great stay, one of the best in Carmel, and Parking is a big plus."

"The location is unmatched, staff is incredibly friendly and professional. Rooms are cozy and views are gorgeous. 5 min drive from downtown Carmel. Carmel is one of the best places to bring a dog. BUDS, the restaurant in house, is phenomenal. The breakfast (included) is the best breakfast I’ve had. That alone would make me come back. "

"Beautiful property. Like going to Europe without actually being there. Centrally located within walking distances of everything you’d want to see, visit or go eat at in Carmel. Of course, you have a Michelin star experience at the hotel as well in their restaurant. The attention to detail all around, including the staff and service, was impeccable "

"The bed was awesome. Fireplace super warm. The TV and movies available were both lacking. It would be nice to have a movie channel or even ability to access personal entertainment accounts. Iwould give 5 stars if they had that."

"So disappointed especially for the price. It’s like a run down motel 6 inside the rooms. The bathroom had mold and the shower was from 1950s. We just wanted to leave. "

"Pet friendly but charge $50 per night, which seems silly. Older cottages, common in Carmel, but some of the furniture in the rooms need updating- stains on rugs, tears on fabrics. Tree sap on outdoor chairs. Biggest issue is that in a room for 4 people - 2 get a converted leather couch that flattens to a full, not a queen but a full-size. And then there's nowhere to put your suitcases. Staff only offered a room upgrade for second night, but we were settled and unpacked and leaving the next day...

"Wife and I stayed here for our 10 year anniversary. We had an experience where someone entered our room and went through our bags and swapped a nice corkscrew that we brought from home with a crappy plastic one. The staff claim they checked the cameras and nobody but us entered the room. Very suspicious this item we have never seen or own happen to show up in my bag and our wood handled corkscrew is gone? Then when I went to go check if anyone had been in our room, me and another guest were...
