The hotel is close to downtown tamarindo which is a plus if you’re looking for some peace and relaxation away from the busy downtown. "De la Playa was amazing. We had security at night to make us feel safe. We had access to its sister hotel right next door, the Tamarindo Diara. "The stay was good. Isabella and the cleaning ladies were very helpful. The breakfast was good (they have plenty of choices). They will give gear for snorkeling or chairs and umbrellas for beach with a refundable deposit. The rooms have AC which worked very well. We had a cute visitor in the room, a gecko. It took me a while to get used with it, but in the end it was ok. The only issue we have is that we had to leave earlier due to a medical issue and the property did not want to refund the...

"This was one of the most unique places we have ever stayed. The staff was excellent. The rooms were great. The breakfast was light and gets you going. The spa was great and the pool was perhaps the best we have ever been in. The staff is accommodating and made our honeymoon truly special. One thing, do not leave any food items open in your room, the insects will find a way. That was completely our fault. :-)"
