"Our favourite out of the four hotels we stayed at, during our Japan trip! Very serene atmosphere, spacious, clean, beautiful room! The staff were friendly and helpful! Though they didn’t have dining or amenities, there were walkable restaurants and attractions nearby, so that didn’t bother us. They had great wifi and access to English programming on the tv. "
"If you are looking for a traditional ryokan experience, then this is the ryokan for you. The ryokan provided comfortable yukata for guests to wear including to breakfast and the kaiseki, hosted in a beautiful restaurant with views of the garden. The traditional Japanese breakfast (included in price of stay) was different and delicious each morning, and the kaiseki was a unique experience, although expensive. The tatami beds were comfortable and the barrel style tub in the room was delightful....

"This hotel is simply fantastic, so nice we decided to extend our stay. The staff is amazing, the rooms are extremely clean and way bigger than usual hotel rooms in Japan. The area is beautiful close to nice nature shrines and a short walk for dining and bars. "

"Excellent place to stay in Gion. Really nice location, convenient. Attentive staff but they will not get in your way. Nice bathroom with a Japanese-style shower and tub area. Very clean and nice amenities. Although no breakfast provided, they provide suggestions and a convenience store is right across the street."

"This property is very close to Kodai-ji, which was very convenient. Also, the host washed, dried, and folded our laundry (a family of 5) while we were out seeing the sites. This was incredibly helpful. Another highlight of our stay was the wonderful welcome tea and tasty breakfast provided during our stay. Although it was a bit more expensive than other options, these benefits were well worth the additional cost."
"This is listed as a 3 star hotel. It is not. It is the most luxurious hotel we’ve stayed at, including 5 star properties. The room was amazing. The location was perfect. Although everyone in Japan seems extraordinarily nice, the staff here beat even that standard. There was not one second of our time at this property that wasn’t perfect. 10/10. "

"This was a charming little place very close to the river, restaurants and shopping and just a short walk to the subway. Check-in was easy, staff was nice and the rooms were well-designed, cozy and clean. The price was very reasonable and we would definitely return. "
