"We had a wonderful experience at the Oltrarno Splendid. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great, and there was always fruit and goodies to munch on in the afternoon/evening. The entry to the building was very cool - felt like another era, and the decoration of the hotel is very interesting. Our rooms was very nice and spacious and we had a free bottle of Chianti, which was awesome."

"A really lovely room. We stayed in room 7, a large room overlooking the garden and river. A beautiful fresco on the ceiling and a giant comfortable bed. Lovely large doors and original shutters inside and out of window. Keep the windows closed though - even mid March the mosquito got a good feed on the first night. "The room was not at all as shown. The hotel lobby isn’t a lobby but a small room with a check in desk on the 3 floor. There is only a few rooms. This is not a hotel. The cafe/bar on the lower level is loud with extremely loud music and they go until 4 am. We could not sleep. The main chandelier in our room was a bunch of wires with a light bulb hanging from it. Bed upstairs was extremely comfy but the sofa bed you could feel the bar and coils (so just be aware if you’re traveling with someone who doesn’t sleep well on a pull out bed) otherwise would absolutely stay here again because it was such a lovely space and fantastic location and wonderful manager!"

The host helped recommend museums and local trattorias for us to visit during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the thoughtful breakfast in the mornings as well as the evening sweet wine and biscotti.
