"I found the staff to be very rigid with any additional requests. I was expecting a traditional bacon and eggs, but it was more like bologna bacon / guess it’s cheaper to feed guests. The butter was spoiled and expired the same month. It was orange and had a weird taste, and the staff would not help in supplying butter even an additional cost. The restaurant seems to be highly priced, especially for Canadians."

"The Retreat is gorgeous. The views of the Volcano and Lake are amazing. The pescatarian menu is perfect for vegetarians and pescatarians. All three meals are served. We did not have meals included but very much enjoyed dinner and breakfast there. The pocket sized gathering places are charming - slider over looking lake, dining room and reception, the separate lounge area with tea and coffee looking into the jungle. The evening walk was fun.
The property is on the top of a very steep hill...

"Lost Iguana Resort & Spa exceeded every expectation. The property is absolutely stunning, surrounded by lush rainforest with incredible views of Arenal Volcano right from the balcony. Waking up each morning with a cup of Costa Rican coffee overlooking the volcano was unforgettable.
What truly made my stay special was the staff. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely cared about making my visit memorable. A special thank you to Diego, Yader, Daniel, and Pamela for their outstanding...

"Lovely self sustaining eco resort in the midst of the forest.
We loved the food, the coziness of the cabin, the yoga classes, and wandering around the property. The farm tour and the night tour were fun activities to do with a 4 year old.
We did not like: occasional smell of sewage around the property, especially around the pools. Dated bathrooms in cabins - needs a refresh. Construction noise around the property.
