"We were enroute to Yorkshire from Somerset with a planned trip to Hardwick Hall necessitating an overnight stop. This hotel close to junction 29 of the M1 was ideal for our needs. The staff were all charming and very helpful and the food was excellent. We did have a minor problem with our room but without asking we were immediately upgraded to a superior room. We would recommend this hotel to all travellers."

"Parts of the hotel I saw were tired, holes in the carpet, poor repairs. My room was clean, the bathroom was not so good - paint flaking off the walls from damp, dead spiders. Didn't expect much for the price I paid, but think I could have paid less. Signs everywhere telling you to pay for parking, so whilst in the carpark before checking in. Entering the hotel there were another 2 signs saying you must pay for parking at the start of your stay, to then be told at the front desk I didn't need to pay - slightly annoying."
