Avoid Olivia Apartments

What a terrible experience. The property requires an access code to enter the rooms and I didn't receive the access code for my first night. I spent more than 2 hours with hotels.com support while they tried to contact the property to get me into the room. I also tried contacting the property myself but they did not answer. I did get into the property the next day but it left a sour taste in my mouth. Worst of all, I contacted hotels.com for a refund and they said they cannot do it because the property has a cancellation policy that doesn't provide refunds. I say avoid this property. There aren't too many bigger failures for a hotel than a guest not being able to gain entrance to the room they paid for.

This was such a charming apartment, high ceilings, lots of windows, very clean and well-furnished. The location was perfect for us with access to the metro and buses but also walkable to lots of attractions. The checkin instructions were clear and the staff were very helpful. They provided space to store luggage on our checkout day. I would definitely stay here again.

Under new management

Despite my reaching out via message and email beforehand, the new management did not contact me beforehand with the entry code or any other information other than a demand to pay double city tax. I had to make multiple phone calls while traveling from the airport to the property, pay a last minute previously undisclosed deposit, and fill out a bunch of online forms before I was able to gain access to the property. My deposit still hasn't been released, nor has the city tax issue been resolved. The property itself is fine, it's well located and was clean. There is a lot of noise from the street and other guests, and a couple of serious trip hazards, including two unmarked steps down to the bathroom from the corner of the bedroom. I was also a little wary of security in the building. When I finally did get the entry codes at very last minute, the room code was the same as the front door code, and was very generic. It didn't appear to be the type of system with multiple codes for different guests, so hopefully they do actually change them and have different codes for different rooms. There are tons of similar properties on the same street, I would look into staying at one of those for now, at least until the new owners get their act together.

Good for solo travellers or couples

It’s a bit out of the citycenter about a 15 min walk, but the apartments are nice, clean and quiet. Little kitchenette and a small living space with two chairs. My apartment had a stair to the bedroom floor, which was quite steep though, so not really accessible for the disabled. A few coffeeshops and artisan bakeries and a lavandaria near the place. Also a nearby subway-station. Just a small warning, during the evening, the street behind it has a small red-light district strip, but nothing much going on. Just a nod to the ladies of the night and move on. Don’t worry though, during the daytime there’s no such presence and you can easily avoid the street if you’re walking back from the city. There’s no physical checkin reception at the location, everything is communicated by mail or you could call them. All COVID-safe. Had a pretty pleasant stay, would stay here again if I revisited.

Lots of confusion around the booking due to a recent change in management, which made the checkin process very very stressful. Otherwise, the property is very nice and close to the metro and restaurants.

Nous avons séjourné dans deux appartements standards avec nos enfants adultes dans un petit patio sympathique. L'appartement est assez petit mais fonctionnel. Même si nous la regardons pas vraiment en vacance, la télévision n'était pas fonctionnelle, pas de branchement électrique et câble TV dans un appartement et aucune TV dans l'autre. Il y a eu apparemment des vols lors des travaux des appartements selon le concierge. La communication se passe bien (en Anglais et/ou Portugais) au téléphone. La réception des codes pour entrer a mis un peu de temps à arriver par mail...(15 min environ après appel) Quelques coupures de courant sans grosse gêne et nous avons eu droit à une bouteille de Porto en compensation (sans rien avoir demandé) Globalement satisfait de notre séjour

Das Apartment ist komplett neu renoviert und gut und modern ausgestattet. Die Kommunikation mit dem Olivia Team war ausgezeichnet. Es wurde auf alle Anfragen und Wünsche eingegangen. Das Apartment ist in einer unscheinbaren Straße mit sehr guter Anbindung zu den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln und vor allem fußläufig entfernt zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten und zur Innenstadt. Schade ist, dass das Apartment relativ klein ist und kaum Ablagemöglichkeiten hat. Die Klimaanlage hat im Erdgeschoss-Bereich gute Dienste geleistet, im oberen Bereich der Maisonette-Wohnung (wo sich das Schlafzimmerbett befindet) fanden wir die Luft hingegen manchmal etwas muffig. Wir waren trotz o.g. Einschränkung sehr zufrieden.
