"I had a really excellent stay here and one of the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a hotel in a long time. The room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and clearly part of a recent refurbishment. Everything felt fresh, well decorated, and well looked after. What stood out even more than the room was the customer service. Laura was exceptional. She genuinely couldn’t do enough to help and made the welcome feel personal rather than the usual transactional check-in you get at most hotels. The...

"Great Location, Very clean and well maintained. Staff was great. We enjoyed a complimentary wine and cheese buffet, which was very nice. The rooms are purposefully very small but extremely well thought out and well appointed. "

"Lovely room at top, very spacious, extremely comfortable bed, bathroom spacious. Cooked breakfast was superb and beautifully presented. Staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Weeny downside, I had already paid via Expedia, my partner didn't realise, and when checking in, whilst I was elsewhere, paid for the room. Luckily he mentioned it later, and it got sorted and refunded. Would definitely stay there again, beautiful old building, and although a pub was very quiet in our room, ...

"We had travelled about 190 miles for a wedding, arriving about 12:30 and looking for suitable facilities to change in, only to be offered the use of the disabled toilet. Far from ideal, but we managed. The room like the hotel looked dated, with only 1 packet of biscuits for the 2 of us, only bathroom amenities was a small round of hand soap, a pump dispenser of soap and shampoo over the bath, and the shower wasn't up to much either. The location and views were really nice. "

"A very good place to stay. Reasonable rates and a lovely clean room represents great value. I would have given 5 stars except that we had to ask for replacement teas, coffee and milks each day. The food in the pub was good and it was very close, which was important because it was raining. There was ample parking too."
