"A nice modern hotel. Clean and comfortable on a main road that will allow you to travel out to a bunch of different riding and hiking spots conveniently. Staff were friendly and as mentioned it was lovely and clean. Only recommendation would be to bring some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper and you happen to be in a room looking out on to the road. The windows are thick but seemingly not enough to block out noise from passing vehicles. "

"Definitely book a room in the old part if possible. The new wing is beautiful and clean....but it takes about 10 minutes from check in to find your room...but you'll need a map! Gorgeous grounds, food was delicious. Will visit again."

"Great lay-over before an early morning flight out. Room was spotless, quiet and well furnished. Used the hotel shuttle bus to/ from the airport - excellent service and very polite and helpful staff everywhere I turned. Will definitely use Clayton again.."

"Rooms clean & tidy. Very old property which means its a bit creaky and quirky. Main areas need some life putting back in to it as it looks tired & unloved. Breakfast was a good selection. Ideal central location for bars, restaurant, high street, park & Opera House. Ideal for a stopover in Buxton."
