Lovely old bungalow. The butler service we had was exceptional. It’s cold at night so fires in rooms & hot water bottles in bed at night. Food really good. They don’t have a drink license so happy to serve your own. I just recommend you keep your gin in your room rather in their fridge.

We stayed at La Pentera for 2 nights in Feb as part of our Sri Lanka tour. We arrived at about 6pm and were greated by Francis the manager and his wonderful team and a welcome drink. Toted as being one of the most remote hotels in SL the hotel did not disappoint. Fabulous location and well run for such a remote site. You certainly got a sense of the rainforest by the time you got there. Our container was comfortable and the bar and dinning rooms spacious. As vegetarians we were a little bored with curry and rice yet again but it was nice not to have to face another buffet dinner as dinner was served to you. Great location, Great room WiFi kept disconnecting every time walked down to the room

We were on our honeymoon and had been staying in very luxury places but we fancied something different for a couple of days which would be an experience that we would remember. To get to the resort you have to get a 4x4 ride which is very bumpy (but you are going into the jungle so what do you expect!). After about 20 mins you make it to near the bottom of the valley. Great pool, great food, great staff and a really cool place to stay! I would highly recommend this place if you are stopping for safari. The only negative was that our toilet wouldn't flush properly and they didn't have a solution.

Very lovely couple and the room was delightful. The big windows meant it was moonlight all night with a full moon and you could see Adam’s Peak from their garden.
