The staff were absolutely amazing and very accommodating. The included breakfast was a nice addition and the hotel is right in the heart of the town. Everything that matters is within walking distance. My only complaint was that I did not get the room that I thought I selected on Expedia. When I spoke to the hotel owner he explained to me that they are a Boutique hotel and that the images are merely a representation of what you can expect. I also could not get the smart t.v. to work consistently or connect to the wi-fi. I suspect that this was an issue due to the constant need to replace the key card in order to receive power to the room. In all fairness, I did not bother to bring this issue to the attention of the hotel as I did not want to be bothered. I also could not stand the mini-bar that was stocked with overpriced snacks and liquor. It would be nice if they could simply remove the mini bar items, but I was told to place them in the closet instead. I did not want to be charged $3 per beer.

So for a 3 star hotel this was pretty good for the Caribbean. Staff were great and place was clean with a very comfortable bed. Aircon was ok. It never seemed to get really cold. The ceiling fan with the aircon though was good enough. Breakfast was also great for a 3 star. Freshly cooked as you order. Also had a few evening meals which was also decent quality and well presented Nice pool area which was always quiet. The hotel is in a great location for Sosua close to the bars etc. have to say though if I were to stay in DR again soon , and unless you want to be specifically in Sosua , I would stay in Cabarete. The beach bars there and far superior and a much better atmosphere. The town bars and mainly still pretty rough in Sosua with chicas approaching you constantly. Not my thing hence I would choose Cabarete.

Clean rooms and grounds. Staff clearly takes pride in the place and takes good care of it. Bed was very comfortable and the AC worked well for hot days. Breakfast included was excellent and we appreciated that it went so late (8-11:30am). We loved lounging by the pool and having a dip. Good location with easy access to Playa Alicia, Playa Sosua, nearby restaurants, and easy cab rides to Cabaret and the airport.

Located in a great spot. It's only a 4 minute walk to the beach. The staff is lovely. They always have a smile on their face and are eager to help. The food at the restaurant is delicious and set at a reasonable price.

Ideal location within walking distance to beaches, restaurants and nightlife. That said, was safe and well attended. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed the welcome drink in the attached restaurant and champagne in room. Free breakfast options were excellent. Enjoyed our terrace room and kitchenette amenities. Bed was very comfortable. Ample Hot water and great water pressure. 100% highly recommend.

The hotel was not as advertised. My room was outdated and had mold in the bathroom and in the main room. I was initially told that I would get a new room on a Sunday but I was scheduled to leave on a Monday. I had issues with electricity in my room the lights went out then started flashing on and off. My friend who travelled with me found mold and ants everywhere in her room too. My friend and I checked out of the hotel the next day. We found a beautiful condo near the beach with better quality than the hotel. I would recommend Expedia to remove this property from the listing or require the property to update accurate information and pictures on the hotel and not to book any rooms that visibly have mold in the rooms because that can lead to illness for guest. I barely slept the one night I stayed and I was happy to leave the hotel the next day. I will leave a positive review for the property owner because he apologized for my issues and promised to refund me for the three nights I didn’t stay and he kept his promise by refunding me for the three nights. My room was, perhaps, the worst on the property. Very cramped and with no privacy. The pool was literally 4 steps from the room entrance. Unlike most of the other rooms it had no patio or terrace, as advertised. I kept asking for a change of room but after being sitting along for two days, I had to get out, which was very difficult to manage as it required Expedia to intervene on my behalf. I cannot recommend this property. , nor do I'd I appreciate the dismissive attitude of the manager. There are better, quiter properties right next door. I recommend The New Garden. It has many more rooms to choose from and the management is great, as is the free breakfast! At Casa Valera, juice isn't included with the

Had a very enjoyable stay at the Casa Valeria while in Sosua. Staff was very friendly and always greeted me. The room was done up daily and always looked fresh. The towels inside are apparently only for showering, however when she saw the need, the manager quickly brought me 2 beach towels to use for the pool and the beach. There was an issue for a couple of days with the key card not being able to open the door, but once the manager realized I was having issues, she immediately got a maintenance person on it. They ended up replacing the entire mechanism, and it worked great after that. The stay includes breakfast at the attached restaurant, but it's not the typical short list of options. It's whatever you want on the menu, including modifications to the menu item. The portions there are very generous and didn't leave you wanting more. Other meals satisfied as well. The hotel is basically in the core, so very short walking distance to not only the beaches, but also to restaurants and bars in the area. The only bad thing I experienced was the noise from the street, it never stops and it's loud, especially in the restaurant, however in my room I could hardly hear it (Main floor courtyard) Overall was a great experience and expect I will be going back at some point in time.

The hotel did not look as nice as the photos, those are clearly older photos when the hotel was in better condition. I had many black ants in my bathroom, crawling on the walls and sink, dead ants on the bath rug. There was also some mold on the bathroom ceiling over the shower.
