The room was a bit dated, but the property as a whole was nice. Beautiful beach, friendly staff. Food was ok, pools were nice.

We’ve been coming back to the Gran Ventana for many years. The price is always right, the staff is excellent.. the only one that could have been nicer was the girl taking the ala carte restaurant reservations. The pool is very clean, the rooms are in good shape.. could be updated but are kept very clean. One complaint I have is that the smoking policy is not enforced. There is supposed to be a designated section but nobody pays attention. If you are not a smoker, and I think it’s not very common to BE a smoker these days, it’s a big turn off to have to smell and breathe in cigarette smoke. The buffet always has something you should like to eat. It’s not fine dining but that’s not why you go to this resort. The ala carte restaurants are better.

The staff as always was amazing, our room was late getting ready, after my 4th trip there there was no welcome back banner, no royal package welcome package in the room. The second day the bathrobes were taken and not returned. The menu was bland and stagnant same for the last 7 years.

As returning guests, it was nice to see familiar staff. Once there you will realise why 30% are returning guests. Rooms were very clean, staff friendly and helpful. We did notice not too many receptacle to use chargers unless you use the bathroom. We didn’t have a pull up stem to plug the sink drain, you would think that housekeeping would notice that if clean around the faucet.

The room was cleaned everyday, water was provided daily, overall it was great I would highly recommend to seniors with mobility issues, while there was some walking I could handle it. Remember to inform that you need a ground floor room. The food was great. Wish there were more excursions that were for mobility challenged seniors

Decent quality for the low price you pay. Have to look past some of the small things, manage your expectations you simply are not getting true 5 star quality for 2 star price. Food is OK. You are not coming here for high end meals, it’s simply a great selection of mediocre quality. The tenderloin filet steak at the octopus is not a real filet, might be a sirloin at best. You will want to get out on some excursion and pay for some meals out if you are wanting an excellent tasting meal. The buffet is decent and in my opinion better than the other restaurants. Long waits at the restaurants, and very small plates. The alcohol beverages at the bar is a joke. The amount of alcohol they pour is thimbles per cup, asking for double alcohol still doesn’t make it what it really should be. Cleanliness at the bar is sketchy, seen the recycled cups get dipped in soapy water, that stands all day and then rinses in another bucket of flesh water that at some point is not clean but is reused. Wife and I both got sick with a cold and am sure this is how we contracted the virus. Beaches are great. Not snorkeling quality, the current and surf kicks up way to much sand and most days u can’t see the ground. There is really no coral or fish and if u get close enough to the rocks you might get swept into them depending on the tides, the current will push you into them. Overall it was a great stay. As stated, manage your expectations or you will disappoint yourself.

The housekeeping staff was excellent, room was clean. When we asked for items for our room it was brought. The rooms were outdated but comfortable. It would be good to have more gluten free and vegan options. ie:tofu The coffee machine at the bar wasn't fixed die 4 days, they had the best coffee. We have always loved the Dominican coffee this time it was bitter and disappointing. The wait staff were attentive, they are worked very hard to get to everyone at breakfast especially an extra 1 one or 2 on hand would be helpful. We stayed as a premium guest, the best part of that was the lounge. The spot at the beach was lovely, the cushions,bolster and towels were dated, torn stained. The experience was nice but being bothered buy the services being sold but individuals was not relaxing. We would have liked to see a jacuzzi or 2. Our overall stay was nice, facility was kept clean!

The room was ok after we made them fix the broken shower head and the toilet that was leaking all over the floor. The tv didn’t work and they didn’t fix it. My sister and I got food poisoning from the breakfast one morning. Was violently sick for a few days. They only let you go to the nice restaurants one time during your stay. The rest of the time you have to go to the buffet where I got poisoned. They do clean the rooms every day which is a plus. We won’t be going back.
