"They had given away our room then lied about it. Double charged our card as a deposit. (Seriously. They said the deposit was 150 and they actually held 1100. We did get it back. It was a big surprise to not have that money on our trip.) Nice big breakfast but it was $20 a person 14+ and $11 for 5+. (Each day) It was like a giant abandoned ghost hotel. Fun and CRAZY to explore backrooms. Very run down."

"The place smelled like cigarette smoke. When we arrived, the door tour room was ajar bc it didn’t close without pushing really hard. The carpet got my white socks atrociously dirty in just a few minutes. I do not recommend."

"I showed up at the property with a reservation. The booking system was down, so they called the IT department who said it would be up in 30 minutes. I gave them 45 minutes and it was still down. Meanwhile, they did not even offer me a chair to sit on. I offered to give them cash to get a room and they refused it. Perhaps they needed the IT system to be up in order to generate a key code code. They did say there were a couple other hotels withing walking distance - I did not have a car....

"Cute little lodge . The front desk is open only 9 to 5. Provisions are made for coming and going after hours. Parking is directly behind the building. Free 8pm to 8am . 50 cents an hour otherwise. Easy to pay with app. Location is convenient for theaters and restaurants. You can walk everywhere. Hotels in this area are very high priced and this one is no exception, but a little less than the big chains. We therefore chose the least expensive room with a king bed as we were staying only 1 night...

"There was plenty of parking, which made my stay very convenient. It's about a 20-minute walk to downtown Salem, and I enjoyed being able to walk into town. I do think the room could have been cleaned a bit better, as the end tables hadn't been wiped down. The TV screen also appeared to have chemical damage, with pink drip marks visible across the top of the screen. I notified the front desk before checking out so they were aware. "We had a fantastic stay at the Marriott Peabody. The staff were exceptional and very friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. Our room was spotless, the bed was incredibly comfortable with wonderful quality cotton sheets and super soft pillows, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, making for a great night’s sleep. The shower was excellent with plenty of hot water and good pressure, and there was complimentary quality shampoo, conditioner and shower gel available to use. The only minor...

"The property was very convenient to everything in Salem including the short walk to the commuter rail depot to Boston. Our room and the bathroom were very small, which was disappointing since we stayed there 5 nights. When we checked in I asked the desk attendant if we could get a bigger room and she told me I should have done this request with Expedia prior to checking in. I was ot happy with her attitude and unresponsiveness. In summary it is a great historic hotel and very convenient."
