"The pub is in a fabulous position, the room we had was good and the staff friendly and helpful. Where it fell down was at dinner. I was there with my wife for our 56th wedding anniversary and was hoping for an excellent experience but the service was poor, I had to go up to the bar and ask for a menu after waiting for some time. Again I had to ask for someone to take our order, my second drink was waiting on the bar and I had to retrieve it myself. When food eventually arrived (rack of ribs)...

"Made little use of facilities as we were out most of the time. Room was rather small & needed artificial light. On arrival the room was unbearably hot & it took some time for the fan to have any effect. In fact we had to keep the fan all night. The coffee from the machine was undrinkable."

"Had a lovely night away. Room was clean and nice to have a fridge with fresh milk for coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious and lots of choice. Outside areas are great for relaxing and nice to have an outside pool. In a quiet area but within walking distance to the beach, train station and town. Great hosts. Would definitely recommend. The serving staff were personable and helpful but the service at meal times was slow because there was not enough staff. Down side was the poor control of parking (cost £15 per night) and I witnessed one customer very irate because his car was blocked in. If the hotel charges to park a car, they are duty bound to control the parking - cars were parked outside of marked bays and...

"Loved the location directly opposite Livermead beach. Beautifully presented hotel. Enjoyed sipping drinks at the roof top terrace watching the sunset. Delicious breakfast and very comfortable bed, made for a fabulous stay. Would definitely recommend to others looking to visit Torbay and the English Riveria."

Slightly misleading when you read the descriptions where it says "hotel apartments" Staff were very friendly and cheerful"

"Amazing hotel, lovely grounds, plenty of parking, lovely staff - all very helpful and clearly enjoy working there, nice relaxing bar with a friendly bartender, nice spacious and cool bedrooms, food was amazing, evening entertainment was decent, nice breakfast with a really good selection, only had a 2 night stay but will definitely be returning."
