Our first impression upon entering the hotel was unfortunately very unpleasant, as there was a strong smell of urine in the lobby. We were then escorted up to our room, and immediately noticed that the stairs between the first and second floors were uneven in height, which made carrying luggage quite difficult and uncomfortable.
The room itself also had a noticeable urine smell. We left the window open while we were out exploring, which helped make it somewhat more tolerable, but it was still not ideal.
Noise was another major issue. Even as late as 1AM, it was very loud. The first night, we were unable to sleep due to people outside. Once that settled down, we were woken up by staff cleaning and putting away patio furniture, followed by early morning garbage truck noise.
The only positive aspect is the location — it’s conveniently close to the main train station, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and the Colosseum. The Vatican is about a 45–60 minute walk away.
Overall, due to the cleanliness and noise issues, we would not recommend this hotel and would not choose to stay here again.
