"The hotel is amazing, but when it comes to the elevators? Horrible service, if it’s too crowded you’ll be waiting for 20-30 minutes until an elevator is available. "

"We had a wonderful stay here and would definitely stay again. This is a bare-bones hotel, so don't expect frills or amenities, but it was extremely convenient, safe, quiet, and perfectly comfortable for a three-day stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean, if a bit shabby (chipped paint, non-working shades, cheap area rugs, etc.). We loved the historic and charming lobby and stairwells and wish that they kept the historic details throughout the rooms and rest of the hotel (room and bathroom flooring are sadly modern and out-of-place). Fantastic location between Grand Central and Times Square."

"Overall, I’d say the best part about this hotel is the location and proximity to public transportation. That’s a huge plus if you plan on traveling all over the city. Unfortunately, I don’t see myself staying here again unless the price happens to be an amazing deal. I found the staff to be rude and unhelpful. The bathroom, specifically the bathtub, was gross. Again, it wasn’t the worst place to stay but I expected better after reading everyone else’s reviews. Maybe I went on a bad week, I don’t know. "

"We enjoyed our stay at Riu Plaza! The moment we walked in we were greeted by staff . The whole stay was great! The rooms were cleaned everyday, the staff were very polite and attentive. We loved the location, easy access and lots of shops around. We are definitely coming back! "
