"Gion Elite Terrace is a great homebase in Kyoto. The hotel is clean, the rooms are incredibly well designed, with comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms, and more. The only downside (which is a larger issue with Kyoto in general) is that the property does not have much authentic Japanese charm or feel because it is largely (75%+) American tourists and staff are perfectly bilingual (a plus, but also a bit disorienting). If you’re looking for an authentic Japanese experience then this likely isn’t...

"This was the perfect hotel for me and my teenaged son. We were close to a lot of the sites I wanted to see and a quick bus ride from the heart of Kyoto that he wanted to experience. The hotel itself was charming and spacious. Especially after spending a few days in Tokyo, the room felt massive. Two double beds, a living area with TV, separate WC and separate tub/shower. The staff was enthusiastic and cheerful. I can’t recommend this place highly enough! Superb hotel!"

"We loved this hotel and its location in Kyoto. We walked to many attractions from the hotel as it is very convenient for tourists. Some of the nearby dining was fantastic and less than a two minute walk from the hotel. Hotel was extremely clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend. "

"This was the best hotel stay in my whole life! To start the property I believe is a refurbished historic ryokan so it definitely has the charm of a traditional stay while being luxury appointed ! I cannot speak better about staff here they were so helpful they went out of there way to make sure we had everything , greet us, open doors, offer us umbrellas on rainy days! "Empfehlenswerte Ferienwohnung in der Nähe des Kiyomizu-dera. Sehr durchdachte Einrichtung. Nach Gion Zentrum 15 Minuten Fußweg. Steile Stufen ins 1. Geschoss ( Schlafzimmer und Tatami-Raum). Sehr schöner Miniaturgarten vor dem Badezimmer. Klimatisierung in jedem Raum. Die Wohnung macht einen sehr gepflegten Eindruck. Wir haben dort zwei schöne Wochen verbracht."
