"We very much enjoyed our stay at Hakone Kowakien TEN-YU and left feeling thoroughly satisfied with the overall experience. We stayed for three days and two nights on a half-board basis, and both dinner and breakfast consistently exceeded expectations. The traditional Japanese kaiseki dinner was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared, and the hot pot experience was equally memorable. Each meal felt carefully curated rather than routine, which we greatly appreciated. One of the highlights was the sunrise onsen. There is something quite special about soaking in the open-air bath while watching the morning light unfold — it was genuinely breathtaking. Breakfast, too, was generous in variety and high in quality. If we were to mention one small point, it would concern the blackout curtains. As we were travelling with a young child, the room tended to become bright quite early in the morning, which occasionally meant an earlier start to the day than we might have hoped. A slightly more complete blackout arrangement would perhaps make the experience even more comfortable for families. That said, considering the price point, the standard of accommodation, dining and overall atmosphere represents remarkable value. We were sufficiently impressed that we have already arranged to return in November, which perhaps says more than anything else."

We loved everything about Gora Kadan--from the friendly and organized communications ahead of the stay to the clean to the well-cared for room and the wonderful food. Special thanks to bringing creativity and flair to providing a vegetarian kaiseki. It's worth staying here at lease once. "

"Quality hotel "

"The Hotel location is really convenient. It is next to Gora station where the Hakone ropeway is. Hakone Open Air Museum and Hakone Gora Park are walkable as well. The staff are great, helpful and courteous, I arrived an hour before check in so left my bags and by the time I got back hours later, I just needed to get my keys and my bags are already in my room. Breakfast is good and enough to start your day. I also tried their dinner and I would recommend to do it at least once in your stay. The amenities and facilities are great, they have a microwave and kettle available for use as well as utensils. I liked their onsen and laundry facilities. They also have a shared space for guests to use to eat and relax and mingle with other guests. "

"This was a beautiful location. The room was nice and cozy, I loved the private onsen time, and the staff was so friendly and sweet. They provided lots of amenities and even let us try Japanese candy. I definitely recommend this place and wish I had more time to stay longer. "
