"First of all, this is small ryokan only 7 rooms. People called it dated accommodation but it's just the way we like it. We don't want brand new ryokan, we want something old but clean and well maintained. How to get there? From Hakone Yumoto Station take Hakone Tozan Train, you can bring your big luggages inside just fine. Drop at Gora Station then take Hakone Tozan Cable Car. Take the cable car and get out on OH 58 Koen-Shimo. Go downstair a little bit, there is a T section right in front....

"The staff were all really nice and helpful. Our room was very clean, with an incredibly comfortable bed. The bar has a lot of options. They also offer a shared dinner, up to 10 people per night, and that was a great experience with a great group of people. We would stay here again in the future!"

"Quiet, clean, modern and family friendly property. Good location, near subway and bus station to access attractions in the area within very reasonable amount of time. Property has plenty of space with private dry sauna and hot spring tub for convenient access. Wish that we have abundance of time to spend and enjoy this property. Highly recommended for winding down and quiet family time away from the bustling cities."

"The concept and aesthetic is beautiful. However, breakfast and dinner which are included are very difficult, the hotel is in the boondocks with little or no transportation available, they barely speak English, so it feels like you’re stuck in a castle/jail. There’s also a construction going on across the street. My suggestion is have a car rental and specify you want western style meals, otherwise it’ll be a total waste. Our second morning after we had complained, breakfast was catered to us and...

"Outstanding value and ambiance. The dinner and breakfast were equally excellent in quality and quantity. The property is somewhat secluded but it makes for a very peaceful retreat. There is a great brewery just a 10 min walk down the road."

"Beautiful, the in room onsen was amazing and the room was awesome. Great staff. Great location. Wish I could stay for longer- perfect to break up the hustle and bustle of the big cities. Make sure you arrive early- all of the attractions close around 5 pm, which I didn’t realize, but the staff stored my luggage while I went to explore on check out day. The only thing that wasn’t amazing was dinner, but I didn’t go for one of the higher priced wagyu steaks. Otherwise , a perfect stay."
