"Our first stay in a Rakuten property and it won’t be our last. Loved the room, which was more an apartment really. Every thing we would or could need was provided though I wasn’t expecting a telescope to see the stars! Check in was digital and very easy. Welcome pack was unexpected and very good - especially the red wine. Loved the private onsen and balcony foot spa. There was also a sauna but we didn’t use that. 10/10. "

We were seated near families with young children, so the atmosphere was not as relaxing as we had hoped due to the constant noise and screaming. "We had an amazing stay and our only regret was that we only stayed one night. Our room was large, the beds comfortable and the bathroom new and efficient. The overall properties and amenities were well above what we had expected. Stay at least 2 nights and enjoy both a wonderful property and beautiful area. "

"Gorgeous room, but not a tattoo friendly onsen. Luckily the tub was big and deep. Not a lot of restaurants or shops around but its a good location away from the crowds and easy access to the ropeways. "

"If you are going to Hakone, you should stay, and stay at the Fujiya Hotel for at least two nights. This place is magical, and the staff are unbelievably attentive and kind. The onsen is the definition of relaxing and has amazing views. The massage and facial were amazing. The western breakfast was so good, and the dinner at the restaurants in the hotel is worth the price for the experience. Don’t miss your opportunity to stay here if you pass through Hakone!"

"We stayed at the Superior Twin Room with private bathroom. The view from that room was simply amazing. We really enjoyed making good use of the kitchen and common areas. The kitchen has utensils, coffee, tea and filtered hot and cold water. The common area also had a bunch of different books and games if you felt like having a relaxing day. The best part of this place is the Onsen. Also, there is a 7-11 within a 3 min walk. Overall, I highly recommend "

"Staying here is an extraordinary experience, stepping back in time to a ryokan as it was in the 1950s (and almost as it was in 1920). The hospitality is exceptional, the staff attentive and capable, and the room spacious and evocative of an earlier era. Visitors must realize that this means very little in modern conveniences: some rooms don’t have showers and all the rooms are Japanese style with tatami floors and futon beds (set out during dinner and removed during breakfast). "Rooms were clean and comfortable. The toilet and shower were also clean. Overall good value for the place especially visiting during an extremely busy time of year (New Years) in Hakone. The descriptions/reviews provided by other guest were pretty spot on. "
