"Family of four (with 8yo twins) stayed here in November 2025. It's a beautiful inn, comfortable and clean and quiet, with friendly staff and good food for breakfast and dinner. The bath is lovely -- staff help you book a time in the evening at check in, and it's available on a first come first served basis in the morning. Free shuttles up to Gora in the morning are also a bonus (although you'll have to get yourself to Asante in the afternoon/evening as they don't offer shuttles then). Overall a...

"Toda a staff foi muito atenciosa e gentil. O quarto era super espaçoso, o maior que ficamos durante nossa viagem. Os onsens são maravilhosos, acabamos nem usando a banheira do quarto porque os onsens publico e privados eram perfeitos. Tudo perfeito! Super recomendamos o Suiun. "

"We loved this place - private onsen, foot bath and sauna; so much space; very modern, clean and comfortable. Location was convenient- only 5 minutes walk from Kowakudani station ( although be aware that the walk is along curvy roads and parts of the walk have no footpath so it can be a bit dangerous at night). The only negative is there is no front desk and therefore no luggage forwarding or storage before checkin or after checkout."

"Easy to get to, amazing staff that can flexibly switch from Japanese to English if needed. Food is amazing, the Japanese Breakfast is both beautiful and delicious. Nice accommodations, calm hot springs baths, both public and private. Would return for another Ryokan getaway."

"Incredible stay! Staff were so sweet and accommodating; the amenities felt authentic to a traditional ryokan, it was clean and modern. I spent my stay with an elderly grandfather and a little kid and everyone loved it! The indoor and outdoor onsens were perfect. There were toys on a shelf for kids to access and take to their rooms.we had a wonderful time!"

The hotel itself and the area around the hotel, including the gardens were stunning and fun to explore. A perfect oasis, I wish we could have stayed longer. Some lovely shops and restaurants within walking distance. The free shuttle up the hill to the train station was appreciated, although the walk down to the hotel is worth doing. Stop at Naraya cafe as well!"

"I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff spoke excellent English, and breakfast was amazing. But you have to be prepared to Uber everywhere because the roads aren’t exactly walkable. There are some good food options around - especially Box Burger."

"The entire staff is amazing and so accommodating, the food was exceptional and we also had a wonderful massage. The rooms are all unique, clean and comfortable. It is a bit off the beaten path and does not have any TVs so you can truly disconnect. Highly recommend!!"
