"Came here for the second time, this time with a friend. Definitely enjoyed the public baths as well as Yunessun/Mori no Yu next door. Recommend at least two nights to fully enjoy the scenery and the amenities at the hotel. Staff were once again extremely nice whenever we had questions. Definitely would come again if I'm revisiting the area!"

Flexibility in checkout time by even an hour was not entertained and in general no changes post reservation. Some snacks and drinks were complimentary and a nice tpuch. If you plan to cook, bring all ingredients for cooking including oil, salt, pepper."

"I loved this hotel. It was so relaxing. The food was traditional Japanese and some was really good and other stuff was not my favorite. I opted for the outdoor bathroom and private osen and strongly recommend that! Especially if you have tattoos as they are not allowed in the public osen. The Hakone area wasn’t my favorite but that’s not the hotels fault."

"This is a dream hotel. Truly. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out. The staff was incredible-we felt like family, and they were so attentive and helpful. As Americans, this was our first ryokan experience and hopefully not our last because when I tell you they take care of you, I mean it earnestly. Our check in process was done in the dining room with a cold beverage and a mochi treat. We were then shown around the property as we made our way to the room and the room is gorgeous! There were no words other than a dream hotel room. Everything was perfect and beautiful and the view of the mountains was magical. It’s the perfect place to reset if you are traveling in Japan. I wish we would have stayed longer. We did the private onsen room so we had the bath on the balcony and I think in the 1 night we stayed I took 4 baths hahaha. It was so nice. My husband and I also ventured into the private onsen together and that was just as lovely too. We did the dinner and breakfast and I’m so glad we did. They fed us so well. The food was the best we had in Japan. We left feeling very full but in the best way. Thank you Suiun for being the most magical part of our Japan trip. We simply adored you."
