"I took the taxi so I couldn’t say about the free shuttle, but the onsen was perfect that I would return again. The sushi in the Hakone dining buffet was fresh. The unlimited amount of alcohol in the buffet surprised me. The Mountain View from the private bath and the 6th floor open air bath were so pretty. The staff was cordial too. The room was so nice that I didn’t feel like going outside for my stay. There’s an underpass within the hotel that takes you to morinoyu and the kowaiken water park...

"First of all, this is small ryokan only 7 rooms. People called it dated accommodation but it's just the way we like it. We don't want brand new ryokan, we want something old but clean and well maintained. How to get there? From Hakone Yumoto Station take Hakone Tozan Train, you can bring your big luggages inside just fine. Drop at Gora Station then take Hakone Tozan Cable Car. Take the cable car and get out on OH 58 Koen-Shimo. Go downstair a little bit, there is a T section right in front....

"The photos do not do it justice. This house is immaculate! I love the smell of new construction. Every room was nicely done, super clean, full amenities, everything you'd need to be comfortable. An easy 8-10 min walk from the train station even with rolling our carry on luggage. The 7-11 store is about a 3 min walk. There are about 2-3 bus stops very close to the house depending on which route you're heading to. This was a good base to stay for the Hakone loop. We walked to the Open Air Museum...

"Place is a little dated, but our stay is still comfortable, waking up to a nice, relaxing view of mountains on the horizon. Onsen needs a refresh, but adequate for now 2 hot pools. We had half board for our stay, breakfast were Japanese fare, pretty decent. Kaiseiki dinner on the second night was much better, than the first. Serviced by a elderly Japanese staff, on the second day, more attentive. So far the staffs in this Ryokan are mostly Nepalese, >80%? Level of service provided by the locals...
