"The photos do not do it justice. This house is immaculate! I love the smell of new construction. Every room was nicely done, super clean, full amenities, everything you'd need to be comfortable. An easy 8-10 min walk from the train station even with rolling our carry on luggage. The 7-11 store is about a 3 min walk. There are about 2-3 bus stops very close to the house depending on which route you're heading to. This was a good base to stay for the Hakone loop. We walked to the Open Air Museum...

"Very classic old school ryokan. Sure it's a little warn out but that's part of the charm. Think Hotel Grand Budapest. in Japan. Food is very classic kaiseki coursed menu, and great. the Onsen (we spent time in all 3-4 of them) were great. The views lovely. One thing to be aware of is that they charge for any child over 4 years old for the full price of an adult person which is contrary to what most tourists in Japan might be familiar with (such as kids under 6 don't pay for trains etc). ...
