The cable car trip where you see Mt Fuji was the highlight of our entire Japan visit The food was outstanding. "Stayed here for the one night and it was a gem, literally a few steps from the train station. Clean and comfortable room and loved having a curtain for more privacy. The staff was very helpful and wonderful with their service, the facilities were very clean and the onsite onsen was the highlight of the night you can unwind and just relax. Theres restaurants walking distance with good options. Would definitely recommend staying at this hostel."

"First of all, this is small ryokan only 7 rooms. People called it dated accommodation but it's just the way we like it. We don't want brand new ryokan, we want something old but clean and well maintained. How to get there? From Hakone Yumoto Station take Hakone Tozan Train, you can bring your big luggages inside just fine. Drop at Gora Station then take Hakone Tozan Cable Car. Take the cable car and get out on OH 58 Koen-Shimo. Go downstair a little bit, there is a T section right in front....

We arrived tired -after a wedding in Tokyo - and the check in staff grill you with so many questions “what time for dinner” (but there are limited options so you don’t have much choice), “what time for breakfast tomorrow”, same thing for the following days … they even asked “what time do you want housekeeping tomorrow?”!
