We loved our stay at the Hotel Zelos. The rooms were clean and neat and the bed was so comfortable. The front staff was very friendly. Our only issue was with the staff in the dirty habits restaurant. They were very inattentive and slow to serve. But overall the hotel is an excellent place to stay in the downtown area. We saw lots of interesting people on the streets but never felt unsafe.

The hotel is nice. The beds are nice and the amenities are good. The surrounding areas has too many bums and makes you not want to stay in the city.

First time here, wasnt sure what the area around Market would be like since i hear about the chaos on the news but it was nothing like the reports. A few homeless here and there but nothing dramatic. The hotel was great, staff really nice, awesome bar on 5th floor and convenient to everything. Ill definitely stay here again when back in 6 months for another work trip.

My partner and I are always looking for fun date night hotels in the city. This might be a new favorite for the cost/value. a cool old deco hotel in beautiful condition. Here are some things about the hotel. The Dirty Habit. This is kinda why I came here in the first place, I love this bar, it's got a hip sexy vibe, fantastic bar and just enough food to keep it interesting. The Room. I upgraded to an "executive city view king" which was nice but nothing special, it was spacious enough, the city view isn't anything great because the top floor is only 9, nice little desk area and city space, it did not feel cramped at all. Would have loved if the bathroom had a soaking tub. The bed was nice and comfy. Amenities: Can't really speak to it. We hung out at Dirty Habit and then our room. The Area. This is centrally located part of town, easy to get to everything, but as downtown has suffered so has this are continued to. It's a little dirty, a little shady, homeless and such wandering around. I wouldn't call it unsafe there's just parts of town i'd rather be. Parking: 55 a night valet. OUCH. You can get much better value around if you do some searching on San Francisco parking websites.

Went opening weekend for the Giants! The staff was super friendly and accommodating, the price for parking was half the price of the Hotel across the street. Not to mention1/4 of the price for room…yes the room was small but it was clean and super quiet. The only problem was only one of the floors ice machine worked. Great Stay! Dirty Habit was a Hidden Gem, Steve was great!

Very nice. Good rate. The restaurant bar had tons of whiskey option. Exercise room a bit smaller but very functional.

Booked through Expedia. Found out about “resort fee” at check-in. They give you a $10 voucher to their restaurant, but fail to tell you it’ll be closed 2 of the 4 nights we stayed. Woke up at 4am to a low battery chirp from the smoke detector. Room service didn’t fill shower gel, ran out on last day. And then upon checkout, not one single question about how was our stay? Will not be staying here again.

Love it.
It was amazing. The hotel receptionists were very kind and pleasant. The rooms was big, and I got the most basic one. King bed, nice carpet, nice lighting, very quiet and very very (did I said very?) good amenities. The shampoo and conditioner were better than the Wella I had with me. The restaurant was good as well. Well made drinks and delicious food. The localization was a plus because it has a bunch of traditional restaurants nearby and good shopping as well. Definitely worth the price and I would recommend it to anyone.

Unfortunately I have to say our stay was incredibly stressful, unprofessional, and disappointing. Due to the hotel being understaffed, and incredibly busy, they left our car in front of the hotel for valet for hours. Since the hazard lights were on, the car unfortunately died. The staff that night did their best to assist, and offered to jump the car that night. Unfortunately that did not happen and no communication was given to the next day staff. Although they promised to jump it when valet came in ant 7am the next day. And again, was not. We ended up having to call AAA the next afternoon. (So my car was parked, dead, on market street all night and morning). Where break ins are obviously frequent. We have attempted to contact their manager, Ben. But he has not returned any calls or emails. And they’ve done nothing to apologize or remedy my car. Since the battery was dead for over 24 hours, I now need a new battery, which will cost more than the room for the night. Huge bummer that we won’t be returning or recommending this place. We live in the Bay Area and are in the city often for events and concerts.

Urban oasis
Zelos is in a great location--close to so many shops and restaurants and museums and public transit to get you wherever you'd like to go. The beds are comfortable, the rooms welcoming, the staff are helpful, and the restaurant is good too.

Great Place and amazing value
Zelos is great value for SF stays. Rooms are nice plus they have great perks for hotels.com members (like free bottle of wine and late checkout). This is our go hotel to for going out in San Francisco

Very convenient location-museums. Staff as usual very pleasant and helpful. The immediate area around the hotel significantly less directly impacted by the unhoused than what I found on my previous two visits.

Overall, it was a great experience. My only issue was the cost of the resort fees when the amenities were lackluster. The gym was small and had very little equipment. Aside from that, the room was great and the bar was a good place to get a drink after work.
