"Mahogany Bay was a nice resort. The room was clean, loved the lanai as extra space. Loved the private island. The cabanas were great and the serenity it offers was unmatched. The staff was nice enough. Whenever approached or needed they were cordial. Gilmer the bartender was the absolute best. Always smiling and took care of us when we ordered drinks and food for the pool. We did not have hot water to shower and the cable was out in the property for a few days during our stay. We also ordered drinks and asked for a menu one day at the pool. The young man never came back. Rare occasion because every other time we asked for service it was provided. It was a good property to stay when visiting Belize."

"Let’s start with the good. The resort is gorgeous and in a perfect location. However, customer service was terrible, and that is being kind. Every time we interacted with the staff they acted like we were inconveniencing them. They were not helpful in any way. We expected much better from the level of resort it was and the price we paid. In addition we were not aware that the resort does not serve alcohol. Not a big deal but would have been nice to know ahead of time as the website does not readily mention it. Also the rooms do not have TVs in them."

"We arrived a day late due to the timing of our flight and the water taxi times. When we arrived our room was not ready although it was the next day. They first stated that they had given the room to someone else but then they apologized and said it was actually available but not clean yet. When they did give us the room we noticed the balcony door didn’t have a key to lock it. Reception stated they didn’t have a key for it. I requested a different room because it looked like there was a possibility someone getting in from the balcony. It also had no outlets to plug our devices. They did accommodate and were nice about moving us to another room. But this hotel is very outdated. They do not come clean daily. Their floor mats in the restroom are old and dirty. The bathroom is not clean or have towel racks or anywhere to put your shampoo or shower items. We got placed on the third floor the second time and there is no elevator, the stairs are uneven and with very high steps. We carried our own luggage up the three flights of stairs. I don’t usually like to give bad reviews but I don’t want anyone else to get high expectations from this place."

"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The service was excellent from the moment I arrived until check-out. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything I needed. They truly made me feel comfortable and valued as a guest. The hotel itself was clean, relaxing, and well-maintained, which made the experience even better. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great hospitality and outstanding customer service."

"I mean. Would I stay here again? No. But it wasn’t terrible. The pool is in the middle of the rooms where people can see you. The big pool. The small pool is awkward as well. The bar closes at 5. Which is dumb. I didn’t get a chance to try the restaurant but I heard it wasn’t that good. It was a lizard in my room. It gets the job done as far as a hotel but it’s nothing special at all. Very basic room. Luckily I was only there to sleep mainly. Because it’s honestly nothing special. The bathroom is small too. & the staff is ok, they seem like they don’t want to be bothered kind of. It’s nice that they have security all day. Also it’s kind of far from main town. So that’s a downside too. Overall I would give it a 2.5/5."
