"This is a beautiful hotel in a wonderful setting. The hotel has recently been refurbished to a very high standard. There is ample seating outside which is great on a summers day,The grounds are kept beautifully. The hotel is an old building, unfortunately no air conditioning in the bedrooms due to the age of the hotel, but fans were provided, as we visited on the hottest day of the year. "Drunk male receptionist took ages to check us in , then given me a room I haven’t book . I have booked one family large room 145 - two green standing single beds and double bed room and I was given one double bed , one single and pull out of this bed to sleep on the floor type matrasse bed , when I questioned this he said that I was suppose to be told this when booked - nonsense I booked via this page with photos of the room - freestanding two single beds !!!"

"On a positive note, our room was quiet - despite our proximity to a runway. The bed was barely adequate. Very small. We were irritated by guest room dishes in the hall. Especially as housekeeping was working in nearby rooms. They never cleaned them up. They were there the next morning. Bad form IMO. The lounge was closed without explanation. So no World Cup game. It seemed like the hotel was on life support."

"1) Never responded to requests in text via Expedia last night - and, couldn't get them by phone (my phone an issue getting through London at airport, 2) took a long time to get a person at the desk when I got there, 3) Ordered dinner when I got there - took a long time to get food, 4) Hallway needed to be vacuumed (midnight and this morning as well), 5 kids were very loud midnight from the next room, 6) the best part was I did get sleep and the next morniong the bus to LHR Terminal 3 only cost...

"I was double charged for breakfast on day one, still waiting for refund to cr card. It's only 12.5 pounds, but it was assured that it would be refunded if my stay included breakfasts"

"Device for room key to turn on bathroom lights etc fell off wall so no lighting. Looked like not the first time. I got in very late so couldn’t call. Fortunately I travel with a night light. Has to shower etc in dark. I reported it to front desk when I left. Highly inconvenient to say the least!"
