Great place, I'd stay again. Owners were awesome! Not the properties fault, but there is construction on the road out front, so it takes some creative navigation. Construction due to be completed in July, so no issue after that. (It was a minor issue) I'd stay there!!!

We stayed as a "girls trip." We felt very safe there. It was quiet, clean and very well landscaped. Would definitely stay there again.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. By far the BEST towels my husband and I have ever used in any hotel! Turkish cotton need I say more! We will definitely be staying here again and not just for Tulip Time.

Quiet motel conveniently located within minutes of restaurants and shops. Clean and simple rooms with free breakfast and recommended activities for the weekend. This is our third time at Captain’s Quarters and I’m sure we’ll be back!

It was a very quaint family owned motel. We were one of the last to be there as their summer season was ending. The room was clean and quiet. It was not far from the lake, restaurants and shopping.

Nice little motel
This is a nice little motel very near (30 minute walk) to the central area of Saugatuck and also pretty close to Douglas. It's basic, but in very good condiiton, very quiet, and the owners, who are also the people running the property, are very friendly. I also liked the continental breakfast. My only concern is that you have to check in by 8:00 because that's when the office closes, so if you're going to be arriving late, this property would not be a good fit.

Thank you for your great review. Our office does close at 8pm but we do offer a after hours checkin. We would just like any guests arriving late to contact us before 8pm so we can walk them through the after hours checkin procedure. We understand when travelling, getting here by 8 pm isn't always possible. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again soon!

So the property owners are just such a gem. They did an excellent job making sure we knew the fun things to do in town. Where to eat. Where to avoid. Breakfast was minimal, but who wants to eat breakfast at a motel when you have the insanely amazing options to have breakfast downtown Saugatuck. The Grow has one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Anyway, the hotel was clean, no smell, quiet, and close to town. We will definitely stay again.

We had a very pleasant stay; the room was clean and comfortable and they provided a coffee maker upon request. The grounds were like a park or a well groomed backyard with picnic tables, a firepit, and gardens to relax in after a day of sightseeing.

Nettes Motel für 1 bis 2 Nächte, Saugatuck in 15 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Etwas kleine Zimmer mit lautem Eiskasten. Keine Ablage Möglichkeiten für Koffer. Motel ist aus den ca. 70er bis 80er Jahren und wurde 2016 neu übernommen.

Thank you for your review! The motel was originally built during the mid 1940's, hence the size of the rooms and lack of extra storage space. We are looking into how we can add items while not taking away any more space in the rooms. If there was an issue with any of the appliances in your room, we would like to know asap so we can remedy any problems. Again, thank you for your review and 4/5 rating.

Great stay!
My adult daughter and I took a road trip to Saugatuck, and we chose the same motel my husband and I stayed in three weeks prior. It’s a great little motel, with very nice hosts. Its location is central to everything we wanted to do, and is very peaceful. We’ll definitely be back.

Clean and great location
Our decision to stay at Captain's Quarters vs any other property came down to several criteria (in order of importance): 1) Cleanliness. Based on past reviews, we were comfortable with what we read and CQ did not disappoint. Excellent. 2) Location vs Price: CQ is not on the main drag of Saugatuk, but was only a 15-minute walk through a nice neighborhood which allowed quick access to the beautiful town but at a much better price point than the properties in town. 3) Locally owned- check. 4) Breakfast. CQ provided multiple options, with yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, English muffins, cold and hot cereals and an assortment of juices. It's not going to blow you away but it is perfect for a quick get and go. Look, I'm not a motel guy, but this quaint properly fit all of our criteria and I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. appreciate the experience.

It’s a Gem!
I highly recommend this motel! The owners are a young couple, who are friendly, helpful, and super guardians of this gem of a motel. It is very nicely refurbished, comfortable, and extremely clean! The breakfast was the typical hotel fare, but definitely adequate. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
