"We stayed at the fairmont hotel Macdonald twice now and absolutely love it!! The staff are so friendly and helpful! Shoutout to Paul would went above and beyond to make our anniversary stay special including a personalized card, flowers and cake! The property is beautiful and although they are doing quite a few renovations and the one restaurant is closed, you would hardly know. One downside is the pool and hot tub close very early on Sunday nights (8pm). Would be nice if it was open later for...

"Had a nice stay, was convenient and good location to walk to the Kinsmen park for the Great Outdoor Comedy Festival, and to the downtown Taste of Edmonton. Room was clean and comfortable, a bit dated, and the bathroom has a strange rolling barn door that doesn’t allow someone to have full privacy when sitting on the throne. Didn’t eat here. Never realized we had a F&B credit with our booking until after checking out, and this wasn’t mentioned when checking in which is unfortunate. Would still...

"Overall the room was fairly clean, when we arrived the toilet was dirty also they don’t offer much toiletries just your basic bar of soap, lotion, shampoo & conditioner. Carpets were also stained in multiple spots and the bed is quite hard. If you want a basic stay for 1-2 days it isn’t bad but wouldn’t recommend a longer stay than that."

"Checked into the hotel and was told there would be a parking fee, which was ok. Later that night we had no water in our room whatsoever. When asked how the stay was when we checked out, and we told them about the water. We were told we wouldn’t be charged for parking, but somehow it’s still on my visa. Area is in downtown and surrounded by homeless. Doubtful I will ever stay here again."

"the location was in a great spot downtown, but the hotel itself wasn't great. the keycards barely work and when you ask the staff for a new card or for it to be reactivated they get annoyed and the card still doesn't work! the wall paper was peeling and the ac did not work, which was awful for the summer. i would not stay here again."
