Kauai Inn

"The property is cozy, in a small residential neighborhood near the port of Lihue, at the foot of the local mountains. When we arrived from the airport, driving through the port area, we were at first concerned about the location. However, the Inn is very shielded from that, with a nice layout of the buildings and central pool/sitting areas. For trips, we mostly used the scenic road behind the Kauai Inn leading into the mountains, avoiding the port. The Inn is a little step back in time, having the look and feel of motels back in the 70s (with old radios in the room, old-fashioned faucets and decor, all very well maintained). The bed was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was enjoyable, especially the fresh fruits and coffee, with pastries from a nearby Costco. The roaming cats, chicken, and peacocks added to the charm of this place."

"Cutest place ever with great Staff. Would definitely stay here again. Rooms come with a Kurig coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave. Convenient location within walking distance to Coconut Marketplace. They have a water station to refill water bottles and you can rent DVDs for free."

"The room had a great view! We really appreciated the in-unit laundry and full kitchenette. We also had a later flight and the hotel let us use a vacant room to refresh before our flight. So sweet!"

"Super accueil et excellent contact. Geste commercial appréciable et sympa suite au retard lié à la tempête Lala. Jardin très bien entretenu. Belle et grande chambre avec une très belle vue sur l’océan que nous profitons de la terrasse. Complément utile: si vous restez plusieurs jours, pensez à demander le nettoyage de la chambre car ce n’est pas automatique. Suite à un problème technique, nous n’avons pas pu profiter de la belle piscine. Très bien situé proches de commerces et au bord de mer. Quelle chance de pouvoir profiter d’une grande piste cyclable pour aller courir."

"Absolutely Phenomenal resort! I was there celebrating my 50th birthday and they went above and beyond making my trip special! I even saw dolphins from our hotel room with an epic view of the ocean. I could not have asked for a better gift! We used the adults only pool, ate a couple of meals at the small restaurant on site, walked to the beach (so close), rented snorkel gear. We didn’t get a chance to use the transportation they offered to go to local spots, because we had our own car, but loved that they had that. Free parking too, that was wonderful! Tori was very sweet, helpful with great communication. Making my stay just perfect. I didn’t get a chance to get a spa treatment but I’m sure that would have been heavenly too Very grateful and will highly recommend Koloa Landing Resort!"

Waimea Plantation Cottages, a Coast Resort

"We had such a wonderful stay at Waimea Plantation Cottages! Everyone on the staff was warm and welcoming, but we especially want to recognize Sky at the front desk. She was so friendly, helpful, and genuinely hospitable, and she made us feel very well taken care of. Our cottage was well maintained and very clean. The AC worked beautifully—it stayed nice and crisp inside, and the air smelled fresh, with none of the musty or moldy smell you sometimes encounter in humid climates. We also enjoyed having a full kitchen, which was easy and convenient to cook in. The only minor suggestions would be to add a wire-mesh strainer to the kitchen sink to keep food debris out of the drain and possibly replace or repair the microwave, since it didn’t heat very well. These were small inconveniences and didn’t take away from our overall experience. We had a great time and would happily stay here again. The cottages are charming and comfortable, but the wonderful hospitality is what really made our visit special."
