"The hotel is a delightful experience. It is in a quiet location overlooking Chester-le-Street, but within walking distance of the town and Riverside Park. The room was comfortable and clean. The food was delicious and they were very accommodating to my husband's dietary limitations. The only thing they forgot was having my bear knight and chocolates ready in my room but that's just a minor thing and I did ask for it just the day before so not a big deal once I asked."

"This hotel is in desperate need for refurbishment. The fixtures and furniture is dated and the building itself is so old that you. It think it’s a hotel. The room I got given had a non functional AC. The telephone connection in the room was non functional too. There was no water bottle in the room. You have to buy it!!! The hotel staff had left the room windows, I suppose because the AC wasn’t working. I would not recommend this to anyone."

"Great hotel. The location is fantastic, the staff go above and beyond. A favourite spot for a getaway with opportunity to walk, visit High Force waterfall, have a drink in the cosy bar and dine in the elegant dining room. Breakfast was great - the food is obviously local and fresh."

"Excellent attentive staff in every area of hotel. I stay there regularly when visiting friends and family and my only two beefs are that the elevators seem very slow and the rooms themselves do not have enough lighting. The beds are super comfortable and rooms are very clean. The bathrooms are huge but would be nice to have face cloths again but I am noticing a trend internationally regarding this! Great for parking and public transport is very handy if needed. I will be staying there again."
