"My second stay at this hotel which pretty much mirrored the previous stay with a few more positives. I found a perfect parking spot just near the entrance and didn't want to give it up so I dined at the sports bar which was a wise decision as the food provided was top notch. My room was on the 2nd floor just around the corner from the leisure facilities which I took full advantage of using both the cardio equipment and weights. A very powerful shower later had me ready for bed which was comfy...

"The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The building is beautiful and attractive. I last stayed there in 1976 and it has changed a lot. The rooms are now all en-suite, which wasn't the case 49 years ago. The room in which I stayed was fantastically quiet and the bathroom was beautiful! Room was clean and tidy, and dinner was delicious - all credit to the chef and kitchen staff who had to tackle all the orders for the night in one go following a village wide power cut. Breakfast was very tasty and set us perfectly for the walking ahead of us. The only criticism is that the shower was very hit and miss - either scalding or freezing!"
