"After booking with hotels.com, upon my arrival I was given a room in this shack of a place in a terrible area that I would not bring my family - the room smelled like feces and was nothing like the pictures. "I upgraded to the platinum riviera pool room and loved it. I was originally in the swim out room and I didn’t like how the loungers were right across looking into my room. I feel like all the rooms should have a designated place to dry wet clothes. The food was ok and I suggest you book your reservations ASAP because they fill up unless you just go to the buffet. Diana in the platinum riviera was awesome and made my birthday really special!"

"Great Rooms & Staff, But F&B Needs Polish As someone who regularly frequents five-star luxury resorts, Live Aqua delivers beautifully on the fundamentals but falls short on the beverage program. The rooms are top-tier, the sports bar is a great venue, and the service from the staff is consistently excellent.Food is hit-or-miss for this caliber of property. The Italian, poolside dining, and seafood options are well-executed. However, the steakhouse and sushi definitely need improvement to meet true luxury standards. The biggest letdown is the drinks. The house wines are notably sour, and the cocktails rely on cheap, sugary syrups and mixers rather than fresh juices. My advice is to stick to champagne and beers.Ultimately, the staff and accommodations keep this at a five-star rating, but management needs to upgrade the food and beverage quality to truly compete in the luxury tier."

"Service was absolutely excellent. The staff is phenomenal. Spa is great. I had multiple services done and all were wonderful. The food is very hit or miss some is really bad. Some are fine. Others are decent, never once did we have an amazing meal."

"Nice resort. Small. Only four restaurants so if you are there for many nights you may get bored with the cuisine. Good was good except for the steak house. After a good rain the rooms smell musty and like sewer. We stayed in the closest building to the pool. Easy walk to the pool and beach. The beach was nice. We went during seaweed season so there was a lot of seaweed daily on the beach. The staff worked night and day to try to clear it. The staff was exceptional. Kind, friendly and helpful. The shows at night were fantastic too. Actual performances, dancing singing acrobatics … not just lip synch. The drinks were good. Not serving any alcohol until 10 am so no mimosas with breakfast. Overall, I would recommend. I think most places in Mexico have sort of a musty smell. Not nearly as bad as our last trip to Mexico at a Princess resort."
