"Check in was smooth and easy, clean, well lit corridors. Room was spacious if a tad dated. Spotlessly clean. Ample Car Parking. Lovely bar area. Restaurant good. Typical Pub Grub that was served piping hot and with a smile from the staff. Would we stay again while visiting family? Absolutely we would!! "

"The common area was clean as was the linen. Staff was non existent did not realise was a self service accomodation. Parking was there but I did not need it. The room carpet could do with shampoo and the cupboard with dusting . The bathroom fixture though looked new could do with upgrade.. ."

"Check-in was easy, staff was friendly and helpful. Room was small with stains on the carpet and marks on the wall - not great. Evening meal was very good in terms of quality. Not great was serving time and overall state of chairs and tables. Chairs were absolutely uncomfortable and tables wabbly in restaurant and breakfast room. Parking was OK, but road into property is full of potholes."

"Stinky room with smell of fungus, strange check-in questions - declarations for lost items and asking for taking photo of ID. Breakfast - just brought plate without asking what I actually want to have for full English?? This place is not good - cannot recommend. One bright spot was easy parking. "

"Second stay and a whole much better. Breakfast excellent as ever, room facilities were in good condition, including a working fridge except for a broken window handle. Still couldn't turn the radiator off, so too hot and the Spa could be more accessible with priority given to staying guests."

"I booked a single room with twin bed but upgraded to a double bed and got a better room. The room itself was quite dark, except for first thing in the morning when the sun lit up the room and the bathroom, which was nice. The bedroom had only one central light (quite dark) and one bedside light, with no lighting over by the desk where the kettle/tea/coffee were, which was a little awkward. "Stayed at the Black Dog Inn in Bolton for two nights. The room itself was comfortable enough for the price, so no major complaints there. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The first night was a write-off in terms of sleep. Staff gave a late booking to a couple who had been drinking in the pub, and they stayed up most of the night with the TV on at a very high volume. There’s clearly little to no sound insulation, as it felt like the noise was coming from inside the...

"Contemporary fixtures, quiet room and comfortable bed. A lack of places to dry towels if 2 people sharing the room. Excellent food."

"This was one of the best places I have stayed in a long time. The look of the Ribchester Arms, when we arrived, was impressive. We had a very large room and bathroom, both very modern with a 'fridge and juices, milk, drinks and biscuits. The staff were very helpful and looked after us. Breakfast was freshly cooked and pretty good. We ate there a couple of nights and the food was wonderful. A recommended place to stay ."
