"We had previously eaten at this hotel and were so impressed that we decided pay another visit and stay the night. We were not disappointed. The room was excellent. Every member of staff we met were warm and friendly and the cooked breakfast was superb. Appledore is such a lovely destination and a stay at the Royal George makes it all the more special. "We stayed one night in one of the Garden Suites. However we were disappointed to find the buildings and grounds dirty and not maintained very well. Trees required trimming and overgrown areas needed clearing as they were attracting a lot of flies and midgies. The room itself was ok, bed was comfy and water was hot, however the overall appearance of the walls and ceiling was really tired compared to the images promoted. The room also wasn't particularly clean with hair, mould and dirt attached to...

"We received a lovely warm welcome. Lovely hotel. Nice location close to the beach. Lovely comfortable rooms with small en suite bathroom. Big plus for me was the kettle with plenty of tea, coffee and milk in the room. Will definitely book again when coming to Devon."
