"Great stay in a great pub/inn in a lovely village. Originally we were looking for somewhere near York and picked this place at random – so got lucky. Decent-sized, comfortable room, the beer 'proper' Yorkshire, and the food was excellent throughout – we could have eaten almost amything on the quite extensive menu. No designated areas in restaurant and one particular dog was allowed to sit on the bench seating unchallenged by staff , very poor management intervention! All bedrooms apparently “dog friendly!” Was not a nice experience and will not be returning. Finally, where was the pool and spa facilities ? Certainly not in the hotel!"
