"I arrived with my 8 year old for a 2 night stay during a very hot heatwave. Upon checking in I proceeded to attempt to use the little elevator which got stuck between floors with me inside so I went back down and carried my heavy suitcase up the stairs. I immediately noticed how stifling hot the room was and saw the thermostat had a spanner symbol on. I had to call down 2x to get assistance which came in the form of a small fan. "A great place to stay. Good restaurant. Since there was a wedding party there at the same time, it was quicker to walk down the street to the pub instead of using the bar as there was only one barman serving lots of people."

"Excellent location right opposite the castle. Very comfortable and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Good food at the 18 restaurant with a 30 per cent discount for hotel guests. Would definitely return in the future."

"Horrendous! 1 night stay with my daughter - didn’t sleep a wink. Dirty, mouldy, and felt unsafe. I nearly drove home in the middle of the night if it wasn’t for my daughter being asleep and needing to be up early for a cheer comp at the BIC. Would not recommend and would never stay here again! "Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!! If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good.
