"The room was clean and reasonably priced. Sadly I didn’t sleep well as the mattress wasn’t very comfortable - small for a double, and it felt like we were rolling together . Hong had kindly given us a room at the back of the house as I mentioned I am a light sleeper, but because it wasn’t the property I was expecting to stay in, it meant it was near to the main road which was quite noisy through most of the night on and off. "Absolutely perfect stay as a solo traveler. The hosts were considerate and thoughtful and the room was spotless. Also a very nice English breakfast in the morning with plenty of options."

"Absolutely fabulous. Would highly recommend. The owner was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. So much so that we will be returning to explore the area further. Great location for Alton Towers with wonderful pubs close by too. We had an issue with our taxi not arriving in the morning and had a panic to get to the station on time. The owner emailed me to check we had got our train on time. Very thoughtful and we will be back to stay again soon. Thank you."

"Booked a one night stay to extend another hotel stay close by so we could do the Churnet Valley rail trip. Had a comfortable stay, everything very clean & comfortable. Was a little disconcerted to find we were actually staying in the house with the owner, an unknown experience for us. Julie was very friendly & helpful. Really appreciated the cold bottles of water we were given and the brunch bar."
