"This is not your typical hotel with a pleasant lobby and staff to greet you. It’s more like an apartment building where you climb stairs to the next floor or take a tiny elevator up. There is no one to greet you. Our contact wasn’t even in Florence when we spoke to him. Keys were left for us on a counter. "Staff was lovely and very helpful. Bathroom nicely renovated. Unfortunately I had to leave before breakfast but it seemed to be a nice selection. The only thing I didn’t like was it was a very small attic room with a very low ceiling. Nice automatic blinds installed. Felt like a fire trap - up a small spiral staircase to get to top. Clean though."

Only complaint is that the tub/ shower is poorly designed in that the shower glass protector is only half the tub and not the half that has the showerhead! By the time I’d finished my shower with trying to keep the showerhead pointed toward the front where the door was, I had a swimming pool on the floor of my bathroom and had to use all the towels to sop it up. "I had some trouble figuring out how to enter the property at first, but the host’s support was excellent. They kindly kept my luggage even after check-out so I could continue sightseeing. I also enjoyed lunch nearby, and the location was very convenient for visiting tourist spots. There was a Carrefour Express close by, which was very useful. There were some mosquitoes, but overall the great hospitality and convenience more than made up for it."

"The communication from the hotel before we even arrived was fantastic. We arrived early and could check in and leave our bag to explore the city. Whilst we were out had messages on WhatsApp with key codes to get in later. On arrival we found we had been given an upgrade and a lovely bottle of chianti in our spotlessly clean and spacious room.
