"Restaurant for breakfast was really good, tables not too close together. Rooms well looked after with extra items, little coffee machine and planty of choice of teas. Hot weekend so could have done with a fan. Only thing I would suggest is to make signage for reception clearer when arriving from the rear car park. The sign over the door was overgrown..."

"After check in we were advised that we were in “The Residence” section of the hotel. Upon entering we were greeted by filthy carpeted stairs leading up to our room. On opening the door we were then met by a vile smell…the room had clearly not been used/aired for some time. The carpet was covered in stains, the bed frame fabric was ripped, a freestanding chair was also covered in stains. All this before inspecting the bathroom….disgustingly dirty. "Being put in a room where all the air conditioning units were on the roof of the building facing you and extremely noisy!"

"Very comfortable bed, clean room We stayed for 2 nights. At check-in, we did not notice the sign in reception that you need to ask for a room refresh (before noon) We needed clean cups, glasses, tbags, but we asked in the pub on the second day and all were provided. The only downside is there isn’t really anywhere in the bathroom to dry towel on a two night stay, so maybe best to ask for refresh Excellent value for money"

"Rooms were clean and fresh and breakfast was very good. What wasn’t so good was that bath towel was damp, either from not being changed or not dried thoroughly. We found the mattress quite hard and sleeping was not helped by the people above us running round at 12:30 pm- assume it was children,"

"Check in was quick and efficient. Being able to park for no additional charge was great. Great location for all the main parts of Peterborough. Room was exceptionally silent the whole day and night. A few doors in the morning but that's to be expected. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and clean. Nets at the window and black out curtains. Very much an upgrade on the usual Travelodge I normally stay at due to cleanliness and staff. Room was spacious enough"

It was evident from the certificates and photos around the place that it had been a hotel & restaurant of note with award winning credentials. It isn’t a shiny glitzy hotel but equally the decor was quite tired and patched up in places. "Room is comfortable but very hot. No AC available and hot days can be very difficult to sleep. Positives: hotel breakfast improved from previous visits and staff are very happy to help. Location is the strong strength, in the heart of Peterborough. Car park is also a great advantage."
