"Ample parking, friendly reception staff, a very dated hotel, disabled stairlift out of action between reception and bar / restaurant area. Room 109, 24” TV, remote control battery cover gaffer taped up, pixelated picture, reception notified, they changed the co-ax cable and handset, but no real improvement in picture quality. Bedside light did not work, bulb replaced by staff, still didn’t work, so given a freestanding bedside light. Bathroom radiator didn’t work, and couldn’t be turned on,...

"Great base for Loughborough Uni, lovely village for a walk. The room was spacious and quiet. Breakfast was good but started a bit late on the weekend at 9am. We also ate in the pub and both meals and service was excellent. Easy parking."

"This is never a 4 star hotel! I was really disappointed, Expedia said breakfast was included but they don’t even serve breakfast. Waited 20 minutes in the morning to check out and no one was in reception. Another lady also checked out and said her room smelled of smoke and didn’t feel safe in the hotel. The lady when checking in was really nice and accommodating but the hotel itself was really poor! I think it’s more of a 2 star hotel and I won’t stay there again. "

"Absolutely awful. No housekeeping despite our requests during our entire stay. We could not even get a hold of staff as no one was at the reception or restaurant. We had to phone the hotel via the general number online and ask to be put through to the hotel chain. Extremely poor cleanliness, there were stains all over the bedsheets, chairs and a strong odour of urine in the room, carpets and bathroom. "Lady on arrival was very pleasant and helpful, room fine for price and clean. Wish we'd had advance notice of the party in there until midnight but for £54 the place was decent and did the job for an overnight stay."

"Booked a superior room for a visiting business manager Mon-Fri On Weds I was told that his room hadn't been cleaned since he arrived. Shower had to run for upto 10mins before any hot water came through"

"Bed and bedding comfy with 2 choices of pillows. Good hot water and pressure. Only draw back was the reverse cycle was not controllable due to not having a down button. Temp stays on 25 or you could put it up not down. Had a standing fan fan which we had on all night and heating off. Too cold for windows open. "

"Front of house looks quite good when you arrive, with friendly staff but everthing else from room cleanliness, to working electrics in the room, to choice and quality of breakfast, definetely needs some TLC. However, it was a good price and has free parking so, for what I needed (3 nights solo accomodation whilst helping my son do some DIY on his house) it was adequate. "
