"We loved the eclectic decor and the garden. We had a bedroom with an attached lounge. Unfortunately due to water damage we could not use the lounge.This did impact our stay with reduced space. The owners were apologetic but their misfortune affected our stay with the use of space. The breakfast and location were great. Overall our stay was impacted with the odour of the flooded room drifting into our sleeping space. Despite apologies from the owners no further compensation or consideration was...

"The worst checkin of my life. Very slow and when finally someone from the staff showed, another staff member showed up and both of them started arguing in Portuguese making it a very uncomfortable moment. I was offered literally “a sip” of espumante, then they gave a tour of the entire hotel showing me the amenities which took forever cause all you want to do is get to your room and chill. Good breakfast, decent food at the restaurant, small room, even smaller shower…for the price…I’m not coming...

"Absolutely loved this hotel. The staff was welcoming and very professional. I went to the spa for a massage and Sophia took fantastic care of me. Everything was clean, relaxing, and overall a wonderful experience. Breakfast was great as well - they had buffet style with several options. If i return to Porto i will definitely stay here again."

"We had a lovely stay at the Palacete Severo. Our room was comfortable. The property is unusual and charming. We loved spending time in the library and felt welcome to make ourselves at home. Breakfast was excellent. And the staff incredibly kind and accommodating."

"It was a really nice stay and the staff we're great at making sure you had everything you needed. My only thing was the pool/sauna use, to me it was strange that you had to book a timeslot everyday and you could only have 45min sessions. Sometimes you do just want to sit by the pool and chill and that felt limited."

"Fantastic hotel. Arrived at 1:45p and our rooms were ready, and Tea was served at 2p with beautiful pastries and an espresso machine. Very nice breakfast all complimentary. We dropped luggage on our last day and we got tea again when we came back! Rooms are simple and beautiful, bathrooms fantastic. Love love love."
