"Great bar and restaurant, friendly staff"

"It's obvious the Hotel was undergoing renovations. When we arrived, it wasn't too obvious where the reception was, which was just a desk in the bar area. Our room was on the 1st floor, when coming out of the lift on that floor a room map would have been really useful. We (and another couple who arrived around the same time) were wondering around like lost souls trying to find our allotted room. The room itself was clean, comfortable and well equipped. "Dirt in the room and under the bed. Staff generally good. Booking came with a room upgrade due to status. Room upgrade didn’t occur despite the hotel being empty and having availability on their website. Emailed the hotel through Expedia app (replying to the message they sent me) asking questions. That was ignored and not responded to. Dinner food quality was poor considering my the level they quote themselves to be at and prices charged. Ice cream for dessert clearly suffering from freezer burn...

"Air conditioning broke during night setting off an alarm which woke me up spoiling my nights sleep, which was reason for coming the day before my conference. Once i worked out what it wasand rang receptionstaff came and switched off air con unit. However, this meant room became uncomfortably warm. Disappointing given the price paid. Fely a partial refund should have been offered.it wasnt. Fish and chips nice in restaurant. However, hot breakfast items were not warm which was unfortunate.. "

"The room was nice and clean. Very noisy throughout the night tho, e.g banging of doors and when somebody flushed their toilet in the next room you thought a tsunami was about to happen! Regarding the bar menu I ordered a lasagne with chips and salad, very average, didn’t enjoy. Nice bar area tho with a big tv playing the football. "
