"The staff all went over and beyond expectations
The cleanliness of our accommodation was spotless and was close proximity to the pool
The very good restaurant was far better than we expected"
"Our home was spotless, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine came in handy, but no dryer (clothesline outside though). Beds were comfy, bathrooms excellent but one bathroom has just a tub, so we all had to share the shower in the other bathroom. Nicely decorated modern decor. The service/staff was EXCELLENT, super nice and helpful. Very secure with guards and a gated entrance (even though Vic Falls is incredibly safe). Was there 7 nights and it was like home away from home. Only issue was the wifi is spotty and tough to stream video, although that seemed to be an issue at many places like restaurants, etc. so maybe it's a Zimbabwe thing. "
"Everything was excellent! All staff were friendly, attentive and accommodating. The safari on their private parkland was exceptional. Our lodging was comfortable and lovely. Food was delicious! I highly recommend!"
"This was a very interesting resort! Unfortunately, we arrived, and there was no one to greet us, except the security guard, who gave us a nice tour around the property, including rooms that were obviously occupied by other guests… Our room was nice, but the facilities could certainly use some work. For example, there was no toilet paper holder, and there was about 1/25 of a roll of toilet paper just sitting on the back of the toilet tank. The shower curtain didn’t reach the floor on the shower stall so when you took a shower, the entire bathroom floor was flooded, however, they left a mop in the corner so you could mop the floor up. We thought we had a room with air conditioning, but it turns out we did not, and it was uncomfortably warm. Our host, Mercy, was absolutely wonderful and made up for all the other issues. Breakfast was great, made to order and continental. Transferred to the airport was extremely quick and well organized. The grounds were really interesting! The views were spectacular! Beds were comfortable, however we had flannel sheets on our bed in 38 degree weather!! It was reasonably priced, and was very quiet and private. "
"This is a tricky review because property itself is gorgeous and the staff are delightful. The large conglomerate that owns the hotel however we found problematic. Place is beautiful and in a unique location. Food varied from good to wonderful. The tents are delightful and comfortable and feel very private. We saw warthogs and incredible birds and other wildlife just walking right up to our room. The included outings are of varying quality and part of larger groups. We felt very uncomfortable in the outing to a local village to discover that Wild Horizons does not pay the villagers anything for this outing. While they advertise included outings, they have additional expenses connected with government charges to enter those locations. At a minimum those should be disclosed. If you choose to book, be very careful to make sure you know exactly what you're going to be charged. And some of their theoretically included activities like the visit to the village feel a little exploitative. On checkout we had an unpleasant experience because our bill did not match what Expedia showed us was going to be the checkout amount. And then after we thought we'd resolved it, they continue to push for that additional fee."
