"The motel was an older one that the current owners did not bother to upgrade the rooms. The room & bathroom had damaged walls, stains on the walls and tiles, areas where something on the walls or furniture was either removed or broken but never replaced or repaired. The room phone was not plugged nor worked when I plugged it in to the wall phone jack. I arrived too late to check and find other accommodations. I did not know the area. The TV remote needed new batteries. Remember I said there was no working room phone? I walked to the front desk. When I asked them for the batteries; they had none to give me! No TV for a paid-in-full customer. I asked very nicely, can you give me the batteries in your remote? I was told no because then they will not have TV! Am I nuts?? I never expected a NO response."
