Going to Maracus Beach on weekends was a normal occurrence growing up in Trinidad. The beach lies within a bay and is surrounded by mountains. Swim, relax, and have shark and bake from one of the many local huts.

In addition to the great scenery (Port of Spain and the NW coast of Trinidad are visible in the distance) this is an excellent place to look for birds including several over-wintering shorebird species like Whimbrel and Black-necked Stilts.
