"Basic hotel. Clean and comfy but tired looking and tiny rooms. I had a double room for one person - glad I didn’t have to share!"

"I was in this hotel for four nights, terrible air con not maintained properly. Air intake filters were clogged in the room, and eventually whole hotel’s aircon broke down leaving me no choice except to leave the hotel and book another one with aircon."

"Lovely room, well appointed. The staff were really helpful and lovely. A great stay all round. No negatives whatsoever. Very convenient for the city but also for the motorway network. The spa was one of the best I've visited on a hotel site. Recommend highly!"

"The staff were friendly but very green, during an evening meal and breakfast we had to ask several times for things like water, coffee and toast and some of these things didn't arrive at all. They are pleasant but need more training on staying on top of orders and clearing the tables. Breakfast is strange with you being charged £17 to have access to the continental and light breakfast menu, and then you having to pay an extra £5 for more premium items like a full English. Why not just say it...

"Nice place but the shower had many spots of black colored mold. The rest of the bathroom was clean and spacious. The bottom of the shower door, the corners of the shower, the caulk around the soap holder and some grout around the tiles had mold. It was so bad that I took pictures. I only know this about the one room I booked for the night. The hotel building was fine and the theme and names of rooms was fun."

"Room not clean, dirty bed sheets and bathroom. We actually didn’t stay the night in the end as it was that bad."

"No hair dryer in room, only one bath robe, no bar downstairs and if and when it opens , no draught beer and the facilities are in welcoming."

"Location was great- 10 min walk to centre. Property was huge- good for hen/stag do, which it is probably aimed at. The property is tired, showers cold or low pressure/ not overly clean. Feels like it needs a good deep clean, wouldn’t want to walk round with bare feet. Unfortunately, one of our party cut their foot on smashed glass in the hot tub. Additionally, one of the children also found smashed glass on the floor in the living area but fortunately was not hurt. "

"This Race Course branch of the Chain does everything it says on the tin. Helpful staff, clean rooms, great breakfast choice. Having to fork out for parking is unwelcoming. Outside of race days whats the point.... a few miles down the road the member of the chain doesn't charge. So I go there next time. Otherwise no beefs."

"Great location. Stayed in room 1, bed was extremely comfortable, great powerful shower. Room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Staff were helpful and friendly. Well stocked bar. Would highly recommend."
